Professional Practices for Business Continuity Planners – Subject Area 2 – Risk Evaluation and Control

Synopsis–
In these unprecedented economic times, each of us must do more to mitigate risks. Acquisitions, consolidations, closures, cost reductions and RIF’s heighten the information security risks associated with our internal environments and extending to each area of our supply chains. The Shared Assessments Program is designed by the industry to coordinate, streamline and capture an organization’s information security controls and risks, including business continuity and disaster recovery, across the enterprise and throughout third party vendors. Ongoing viability is of concern and with the general economic downturn; service providers have not been immune to economic failures and could pose a systemic risk to the industry. This session will provide insight into best practices for vendor management leveraging the Shared Assessments Program standards to dramatically gain a more cost effective and efficient controls assessment process.
